Who are we?

The Hawai'i Coral Reef Network is a grass-roots organization of numerous individuals from a variety of state and non-governmental agencies concerned with the conservation of our precious coral reef resources. This web site is an outgrowth of the Network and an attempt to communicate our activities to as many people as possible and additionally facilitate communication among ourselves. The principal individuals involved with this web site are as follows:

• Brian Tissot, Associate Professor of Environmental Science at Washington State University Vancouver and Affiliate Associate Professor of Marine Biology at the University of Hawai'i at Hilo. Founder of the web site, responsible for design and implementation and content of most of the site. 

• Eric Brown, Pacific Whale Foundation & University of Hawai'i at Manoa. Contributor on coral reef research and education.

• Carl Stepath, Executive Director of Save Our Seas. Collaborator and contributor on marine education and community stewardship.

• Dave Raney, Sierra Club. Collaborator and contributor on database management and coral reef risk assessment.
