bladders with leaf like stalks. Stems show short spiny projections |

Habitat: found in wave swept benches,
tide pools and on reef flats,
and occasionally deeper depths.

| Description: stiff erect seaweed with distinctive angular
turban-like blades and a central stipe. Light golden brown color |
| Size: grows 2-20 cm tall. |
| Habitat: on rocky intertidal coastlines in tidepools and
on reef flats and crests. |
