Stages: The young `šweoweo are called `alalauš.

Interesting Stuff: Hawaiians believed that large schools of the `šweoweo was a sign that an ali`i or high ranking chief, was about to die. It was also a generous gift or `šlana to the goddess Pele. Weo refers to the red light in the sky during a volcanic eruption.
